Budapest is now full of cars with British, Dutch, French and German plates, because of the Sziget Festival.

Yeah, I know some people who go to Sziget.

By the way, I think I'm gonna cancel my Sweden trip (forecasts are rainy) and head southeast instead. Not sure how far I'm gonna go. Maybe Austria, Slovenia or something, or Slovakia. I also want to get onto Polish A4.

The Dutch do travel far. Even in Morocco and Turkey, Dutch plates (even caravans!) are not a rare sight. Especially with Dutch Moroccans and Turkish going on vacation there.

But I think Sardinia is too far off the mainland. Sicily requires a short ferry, while Sardinia requires like half a day or more on a ferry. I have never heard about Dutchmen going to Sardinia. That doesn't mean they're not going there at all though.

1. If you don't want a language barrier, the UK is the obvious choice, but Scandinavia isn't bad either. Maybe Germany isn't too bad too
2. No idea
3. Spain and Germany I think
4. The main problem with the French is that they refuse to speak another language. I wouldn't say they are rude.
5. Mini states, like San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra
6. Switzerland, Spain, Luxembourg, Andorra
7. They say Italy, but many eastern European countries also have hot chicks I guess you can find nice girls anywhere. About dudes, I don't know, I'm not gay.

I found out, that probably most Dutch come to Sicily by plane and then rent a car. Actually that is valid for almost all foreingers. You see a lot of foreingers, but mostly they drive cars with Italian plates.

I put that pm here too, maybe others are also interested:

...dont forget to by vignette! (5 euro/4 days)

if you are not in hurry I suggest you some nice scenery:
(with a tomtom it will be easy to navigate there...)

Gellért-hill (where the Statue of Liberty stands):
(panorama at "A", you can park at "B")

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....panoramio.all

János-hill (János-lookout tower):
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....panoramio.all

you can park (and camp!!!) here and you can go up to the hill with a chairlift:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....panoramio.all

and the Citadell (and the Buda-castle) also worth a visit:
(unfortunately the parking is expensive about 2euro/hour, but for a 1-2 hour visit is not that much)
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....panoramio.all

and dont miss the köröshegy-viaduct! (on the M7)
you can have nice panorama of the viaduct from here (achtung! about 1km dirt road!)

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...38409&t=h&z=15

have a nice journey in hungary!

It depends on the things you like, the language you speak (you want to learn) and so on. Such questions are impossible to answer
And I wouldn't be so optimistic about the dual citizenship thing. Unless you are a renowned football player obtaining a EU country's citizenship is not the easiest thing to do.

3.What country has the Best Transit System overall?
If you're asking about transit system in the whole country judging from the places i've been in the Swiss train system is one of the best in the universe.

6. Who has the Lowest Gas prices?
Russia and Ukraine, although I don't think that's the answer you want.

7.Which Country has the Hottest Guys/Girls?
Slavic girls are the hottest

Nah, I was more thinking about only getting to Sopron on the way back. And then into Slovakia, heading for Katowice, and then A4bound.

My GPS doesn't have mapping of anything east of Italy/Austria/Germany, and the memory slot is full, so I'm gonna go the old-fashioned way, which will be fun

Atlases

Because they cover different sections, and the general Eastern European atlas is not detailed enough for local use. 1 cm = 7km vs 1cm = 3km.

So you are coming only to Sopron in Hungary because you don't have a road atlas for the country but Sopron can be found on every map that about Austria?

So it seems you won't drive on our motorways

i could hardly believe that something is too far for Dutchies actually, non-italian plates are really rare here. the most numerous foreign plates are french and spanish (although quite rare), after them i saw couple of german, 2 polish (!), 2 sammarinese and one austrian. but you can easilly recognize foreigners in rent-a-cars, according to their style of driving you could easily guess where they are from

What do you mean "local use"? You look at signs for local use, no atlas will be detailed enough.
For my travels I have only map of Italy and Alps (it is OK for finding general spot and continuing looking at signs, for any other use I have an atlas of whole Europe (from 2003) and it was always enough detailed.

I like to plan some local trips

Signs are a good way to follow, but not to plan, since you don't know where a town or city is if you don't have a map.
If you're staying on the motorways and main roads, you probably don't need a map, because I know where places like Koper, Ljubljana or Maribor are, but I don't know where places like Kropa or Zelezniki are exactly for instance.
