here often happens that in the middle of Zagreb appears a snake (Vipera ammodytes) which is typical for seaside or mounains (allways come down with a car)

She is parent's responsibility, not government's.

Well you see, that's what happens governmental bodies assume that parents cant 'manage' their own child then they take control of the situation. That's how it always was

That's not how it always was. This is very modern approach, coming from anglo-saxon world, where governments think they are children's parents. Lately more and more governments are even approaching adults as they are from kindergarten.

Communist countries arise after October Revolution, not really far away. And I don't remember those countries telling parents how should they raise their children.

From my childhood ... you could easily went anywhere you wanted, there was no age limits for tobacco, porn or alcohol; no curfews or anything similar. No age limits for nightclubs etc. All depended on parents decisions and we were happy.

There are many stories in Poland were siblings were taken away from parents to different places and then meeting after years

I think in Poland legal age for smoking up to 1995 was 15

In Slovenia there are no age limits for consuming alcohol or smoking. There is only age limit for purchasing. So parents have all powers to decide what is good for their children.

Authorities say yes (but they always say yes), but I would say no. Youth were always drinking in Slovenia - we have plenty of wineyards and alcohol is available everywhere. So teens are pretty familiar with alcohol, used to it and so they are not causing any real problems.

More problems are causing older people, who are used to drink&drive. Drink&drive was generally accepted in Slovenia to until 10 years ago. But habits remain.

I would say from my experience far less than 10 or 20 years ago. Of course government and journalist deny that, but don't prove with numbers.

I remember that only 15 years ago in youth bars and clubs almost no one did drink nonalcoholic drinks even those who were driving. Now it is totally different.

Actually both beers got much worse in recent time after changing long-time brewery recipes (Union and Laško are from the same company). Sales are going slowly down and foreign beers are becoming more consumed.

Does anyone know what snake that is? Is it a sand viper?

I don't think I could drive 700km knowing there's a venomous snake in my car.

i have noticed it. btw i still like'em. Laško was bottled also in HR in Split, but that was not good at all. Slovenian was very good.
my favourite SLO beer is Union Pils in funny 0,66l bottle which i call "infusion" (because it looks like it)

I think this is not a venomous snake at all. It is not very similar to vipers.
