Yeah, I have worked there for 2 years. I took a sixpack Albert Heijn beer with me on my trip to Prague in february. After one can we (a friend and I) decided that we didn't like it so we finished the sixpack quickly

Are you going to get a job in Eindhoven ?

Is it same in NL like in Germany, using word 'job' always these days instead of Arbeit or something ?

I might get a job in Enschede in a few months time, once I'm used to my new daily life a bit. In Dutch we still call it "baan", "baantje" or "werk", not "job", btw.

Lucky you. I woke up early today, at 5:50.
Today I've been to my 15th mountain hiking this year. Now I've broken last year record already in August.

Do a very simple test (trust me, it does work, tried it myself a few times).

Buy a bottle/can of American Budweiser (or any other cheap "piss" lager) and buy a bottle of Czech Budvar or Pilsner Urquell. Take two glasses and taste them both at the same time (first try to smell it). The difference is so obvious.

They probably call it just 'bud' since it's easier to say

Now try a very different test:
try those beers (or any other beers) with eyes covered with black cloth not knowing what beer you drink. Funny, difference is maybe still obvious, but you probably won't know which beer is which.

This is a marketing qliche that worked with Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi but wouldn't work in the situation that I described. Seriously, try it. Beers (lagers) DO differ in their taste and smell A LOT. If you have a bottle of Budvar upon opening you'll feel a very strong (perhaps even too strong for some) flavor of hops. If you do the same to US Budweiser you'll smell... pretty much nothing. This is absolutely NO exaggeration and I was very surprised myself that this could be true. And I'm not one of those "beer experts" who "knows" everything better than anyone else. It's all about the smell of hops and bitterness of taste.

However if I would be comparing Budvar to Pilsner Urquell I probably would not smell/taste much difference indeed

Actually my friends (excellent beer drinkers - they thought) did took that test on behalf of waitress. They failed completely.

(however there were other beers in question, but still beers that friends thought they know them perfectly)

I don't pretend to know any beers perfectly. However I'm able to distinguish at least 2 major 'categories': piss-beer (US Budweiser, Foster's, Carlsberg and zillions of others) and quality lagers (Pilsner Urquell, Budvar, Zlaty Bazant, Peroni etc.). Of course if you'll try to distinguish between two piss-beers (or between quality ones for that matter) you may fail.
