I'm back from my parking survey at the border.

It was a long evening, I had to make the round every two hours, which means I don't have much to do for 90 minutes or more every time, and it's dark after 17.30 too.

Most trucks were Polish, I think about 50%. Another 20% was Russian, Ukrainian or Belorussian and 20% was Latvian/Lithuanian. I also saw trucks from Estonia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Norway, Czech, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Germany and even the Netherlands.

Did you see Dutch trucks? That's quite rare at De Poppe!

you should have to increase the sample rate to 1 round/hour...

"Slovensky" would at least make sense unlike "slovenský." But, "slovenčina" is better.

That was the second evening at the border. No exotic plates this time, still a lot of PL, RUS, UA.

I noticed many younger Polish truckers know some English. Older truckers usually don't know English, but with a bit of luck some German. Also, half of the Polish truckers seems to have a laptop with them, I saw a lot of them doing patience

One Ukrainian trucker started talking to me about the "Avtoban", but I didn't understand a single other word he said. So far I can divide them up into three categories; the Polish, who are curious what I'm doing, the Ukrainians/Belorussians who are scared they have to pay money for parking and the Russians who just look from their truck, but don't say anything.

Somewhere near Toruń:

The article ends with these words:

Quote:
Trawka została skoszona i wywieziona w znane tylko policji miejsce. Tam ją spalono.

Grass has been mown down and takien into a place known only to the Police. It was burned there.

Are you sure that "burned" doesn't mean the same as "smoked" in Polish?

You see this in the Netherlands too, often inside a corn field, so you can only spot it from the air.

While we're at it, it used to grow along one of Ljubljana's main roads.

Are there actually a lot of Dutch people that go skiing in Slovenia? Most Dutch people go to Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic.
