In London we got a week of snow cover, on two occasions! More than 2 days is abnormal (well, any at all is abnormal really)

Another estúpido GPS accident in the Netherlands, a driver followed his GPS near Genemuiden at night, and wasn't aware the river crossing was a ferry, and not a fixed link. By the time he found that out, he already crashed into the water. The car sunk and one woman was killed.

People rely on GPS way too much. Me and my cousin drove to Prague last summer and when we returned, my aunt and uncle couldn't understand why we didn't take a GPS. I tried telling them that's it's much more exciting to go on a journey and find your own way there even if it means sometimes getting lost along the way. Like how we got to a fork in the road while driving towards the Czech-Polish border and knew we took the wrong way once the road ended in somebody's driveway.

The one time I took a GPS with me I was almost lost in Szeged, Hungary . Though I have traveled through the city many times before, this time I was very careful to listen to the GPS's voice and not to look at the road signs. I was acting like a robot turning the car left or right, following the voice's indications. Unfortunately the entire road network of the city center was under reconstruction and soon I found myself stuck between two trenches, sitting with my car on a small road I have never been before.
Then I shut down the GPS, I stopped a young lady and asked for the good direction and then I finally reached M5, the motorway to Budapest. I'm not very good with gadgets, you know ?

Now facing criticism of a previous user that we're not posting many pics, here are some photos of Romania's roads, now that the winter is almost gone:

Maybe it was because of the great reconstruction's diversion, wasn't it?

It was two years ago, in July, and a large area after we crossed Tisza river was under construction: for a new tram line, for some pipes or underground cables or just to upgrade some streets, I don't know. The road signs were present everywhere signaling the detour and but stupid me, I was listening to that damn GPS machine and very soon I found myself lost.

Pretty pics of Romania. I didn't read the text at first so I thought it was Switzerland. Over here the winter isn't quite over yet. March is the month with the most snow so I'm excited to go up to the mountains during spring break

I've just figured out how to solve Warsaw's biggest urbanistic and architectural problem:

Aaah, much better

Yep, the best solution available.
The mentioned area is the scar tissue of the Warsaw's downtown and I'm ashamed that the very centre of this city looks like post-soviet dump. I'm literally filling with anger every time I'm forced to walk through this thing.

The area was firstly destroyed by Germans and then by our own communists who decided that instead of überbeatifull rowhouses that existed there previously (check pre-war pics on Google Earth) people need some commieblocks and plenty of empty space covered by concrete. Even though now the empty spots are slowly filling with skyscrappers, some new buildings rose among the commieblocks and never-ending dispute about what to do with the empty place around the Palace of Culture still isn't coming to conclusion, all the crap there still deserve to be demolished and filled with water. Maybe it would finally become clean...

City center is not the best part although it's mostly pre-war buildings that are the problem, they are very dirty

I've been reading about plans for Plac Defilad on these forums for years and every year I get more disappointed about the lack of progress.

I ordered a new camera for the 2010 roadgeeking season. I hope I can make some better videos now

I used to use my older Canon digital camera, but that one doesn't allow for HD quality.

this is the video camera I ordered:

I plan to attach it to the center of the dash board with velcro so I can film just over the wiper blades.

It was € 149,- but I ordered a bunch of SD cards (the camera has two slots), so the total was around € 185,-.
