They are There is some private-run company called Europarksomething entitled to enforce parking tickets from many european cities. I've researched this when I got a Danish parking ticket (510DKK for parking my car 3 meters too close to a intersection in Copenhagen, that is purely insane) and they can send a bill to your home and it is unfortunately sanctioned by (at least Polish) law.

Yep, there are companies that specialize in sending tickets to every country in Europe, whether they are parking tickets, speeding tickets or other offenses. Not all countries use this though.

In 2008 I was caught by camera in France doing 20 km/h over the limit (110 km/h on a 4-lane highway). Never got the fine. I also think I was caught in Switzerland, but never got a ticket either, but maybe they don't take the hassle for small offenses (I was doing maybe 5 km/h over the limit in CH).

Some guy in an Estonian car-theme forum got a ticket from Switzerland. I think he was doing around 15-20km/h over the limit in a tunnel. They sent the picture and everything

But there is a reason the 10 meter-rule is being enforced. Most Danish cities have the same street layout they did hundreds of years ago, and thus the streets are usually very narrow. A bus or a truck needs a lot of room to make especially right-hand turns, more than people realise.

To give you an idea, this intersection is from Roskilde. Both streets intersecting are very busy, and has a lot of bus traffic. If a car goes just half a meter across the stop line, it is impossible for a bus coming from the left to make a right-turn:

Somewhere in Philadelphia recently I saw a sign that read "no parking - bus turns." Never seen a no-parking sign explain the rationale like that before.

Three cars collided on the roundabout Zwolle-Zuid in Zwolle City. The first car was a driving lesson car unfortunately. My guess is he braked for the traffic light too abruptly, causing two cars behind him to cause a little massenkarambolage, as the Germans put it.

I don't have:

Maybe I will take lessons after summer, but it depends on how much I've earned during the summer.

€ 40 per lesson, 40 lessons, that sums up to € 1600 and then you didn't have had any theory or practical test yet.

:O

Here you need 16 practical lessions (and around the same theoretical lessions), plus two courses in driving technique on a government approved test facility (With wet tracks, high curbs, brake test area and the lot). In total, I paid DKK 8500 for my drivers license (that was including medical attest, test fees and 4 additional practical lessions). That's around € 1150 (and generally, prices here are higher than the rest of Europe, due to higher salaries).

40 lessons is the average in the Netherlands. I had 24. My ex-girlfriend had 90

But she was a woman (I assume), so you cannot fairly compare those two numbers

Go to Poland
Here you can attend a course (theory+30h of driving) for 250€. I don't know the price for an exam because of recent price rises, but it should be under 50€.
I've heard that driving schools in Szczecin are full of Germans, they even offer courses in German

Funnily enough, there are also German driving schools just across the border which offer driving courses for the Dutch.

And I thought about 350 € I've paid for my driving license was much.

I've been looking for a cheap driving school in Gronau, but I couldn't find one that was significantly cheaper than a regular driving school in Enschede.

If you as a german go to driving school in PL, wouldn't you get a polish driver's license instead of a german one then??
