Not very high, 900 to 1060 m. There is a river there, Prahova, crossing the Carpathians, and the road is build in its valley.

actually that's quite high. valleys in slovenia rarely exceed 800m.

Romanian Carpathians are not so high but really stunning and beautiful.

btw, are all of these brown places high about 1500 - 2000 m or not?

Yes, they are about 1500-2000 m high, and the highest peaks are located in the area marked with yellow (about 2500 m high). The road where I took the pictures (National Route DN1) is marked with white.

As I wrote, the area marked in yellow contains the highest peaks in Ro, including Moldoveanu Peak .

Be happy where you live (or we). When they get 30 C in England it is real tropical day.

and England is not really the coldest coutry in Europe..

I heard 2 or 3 years ago it was 35 C one day and they closed down schools in some shires..

EDIT:Welcome! Dobro došli! Vitaj!

10 cm of snow in paris today is enough that traffic is blocked, airport Orly closed, buses don't drive, 200km+ traffic jams.

I've been to tropical places in NE Australia, which will be cut off from the rest of the continent when the wet season is in full swing in a month.

(thanks, seem)

^ No, 3 weeks Australia and 1 week Hong Kong and planes. I drove over 5,000 km, if that's what you meant.

Time flies, I thought it has passed just a week or two. This happens, when you're overwhelmed with work and activities.

In effect though, in the UK, most mini-roundabouts in the UK serve as all way stops, as everyone stops, give way to the right and drive over the roundabout

Edit: Why the hell did I write this in here?
