Just look at this movie. The cars driver was extremely lucky but also a very vigilent driver:

PS: the fun begins at 1:20

Can you imagine that something similar happened to me one year ago? I was driving on this road and a truck hit a car in front of me and it was comming towards me pushing the car by its side. I saw something like this in front of me:

I managed to break fast because I wasn't speeding (it was night and raining a little bit) and I reversed the car quickly (I saw in the mirror that noone is behind me). I think I did almost 50 km/h in reverse . After that I pulled over at the nearby mall, had a drink and chilled out because I was so shocked by this experience...

Basically they wanted all small groups of Slavic people - in Burgenland Croats, up there in Germany 100 000 Sorbs (Lužickí Srbi) and Polish Silesians (how to spell it?). In fact just 1km wide strech of Burgenland might be enough for motorway, railway and some villages.

just kidding

btw, Budapest is nearly in Slovakia on this map

But I think if EU will fall apart one day.. I can imagine something like EU (trading block etc.) created from Slovakia, Cezch rep and Poland.

Lake Balaton is frozen

this does not happen every year but fairly regularly

this time combined with wind:

Is that what you call snow? You should see how my town looked today.

How Timisoara (50 km south of my town) looked today:

No I don't. In England everything goes nuts if there is any snow. I had a flight on today - 18:55 but it was cancelled and now a I am trying to work out how I will get home. If I will wait 3 day for next free BA flight or if I will take Ryanair on monday. Damn it, I want to get out of here!

: /

EDIT: No free tickets.

Staines:

It might not look it, but there's 5 to 7cm of accumulation! Most I've ever seen. This is a couple of km south of Heathrow

Thanks for these "nice" pics.

I hope we won't get any more snow this week.
