The more saturated the system is, the worse the delays are. For example, one stranded train or truck in the Netherlands can paralyze a busy railroad or motorway, while it has almost no impact in Sweden.

Yes, you are right, but still...

For example I know that Stockholm airport can clean the runway from snow in 10 minutes under any weather conditions. Aren't Heathrow and CDG capable to do this? I know, it's snowing and the airport is crowded but I just can't understand how can ALL flights be canceled on any airport. Can't they just clean the runway, deice the planes and let them fly. If the runway is under snow again... clean it again (it dosen't take more than 10 minutes).

Today summer started in Australia, and it snowed, so we have similar temperatures.

It happened last year in Bologna too, after the worst snowstorm in 25 years, and everybody was angry and saying "in other European countries this would not have happened"...

This moring it took me 1h45 min to get 20km further by bus...
For my returning my bus has been cancelled for 2hours.
And that only because it rained last evening while freezing an on top of that 5cm snow.
I bet that wouldn't happen anywhere else for such minor snowfall

Tell me about that. My coach to airport didn't come cos it was cancelled. So I had to took another one 40 mins later. Driver told me that he will go to Heathrow (it was service to London Victoria station) but then after 1 h of journey he said that he can't so I could take another bus to the airport from Reading but it comes to airport to late. So I found a taxi and it was not so expensive (40 pounds) and I came to the airport at 6.00. I came to check-in and it was 6.07 and they told me that my flight ticket was basically sold to some waiting people because I was late for check-in. I was so cross. But after 3 hours of waiting I had a new one.
