At Spain I think yellow warning is with 37-38C and orange warning is with 41C (I do not know about red warning).
They are always official forecasts or meditions made by the Weather institute with the standards (in the shadow, grass on the floor, one meter heihgt, etc...). Of course, in the street, being in the middle of the sun, it will be hotter.

And it depends of the zone to declare yellow, orange warning... I the southern Spain for example, it can be 42 for orange and only 40 in the northern where mountains.

Last weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at Zaragoza we had orange warning. 41,7C maximum (in the shadooooow...)

If I remember correctly, red warning is at 44C.

That all sounds strange. 28C isn't a typical day in the South East but it's far from unheard of. The warmest day this summer so far in London was 33C. The South East is much warmer than the rest of the country in the summer though. The warmest temperature on record in the South East is 39C. I can't remember any years where it hasn't gone above 30C in the South East at least a few times. Last year it was only twice though!. This year a couple more times, in early summer.

It reached 28C in April this year, I think that might have been a record.

I reckon that about half of teenagers and most adults understand Fahrenheit, but only some old people use it. The news channels use it when it gets into the low thirties (30) to make things sound warmer

That's right. I live with a German/Austrian family, and they are really their dogs. But I've got a special bond with Wanda and Penny, the other beagle.

I was in Munich on June 13, 1986 (I have a good memory for dates - and I believe it was the centennial of the death of Mad King Ludwig) and the high was 9. Yes, 9. In June. I was not pleased.

Most mountain passes in Switzerland were covered with snow this morning, some as low as 1500 meters above sea level.

In fact I was not surprised by 11C: this summer we reached lower temperatures, sometimes. I was surprised and amazed by the 20+ drop in temperatures overnight.

Yesterday it was 35C also in Bratislava and I saw a Japanese tourists wearing a jumpers!

After 4 pm, in 2 hrs temperature droped to 25C, in another hour to 20C, wind was blowing bloody strong and streets were empty in a few mins. I might put a video from yesterday on here. But today it was quite good, 24C, sunny, no clouds... and now I just came to the Central Slovakia, clouds started with first higher moutains, no sun, 19C.. feels like in England.

Moutains are covered by snow in August?

Well, they are pretty high I guess as you live near Zillertal.
