I use a more modest Nokia C5. It is GPS capable and I managed not to get lost with it during my 2200 km few weeks ago

I don't need another phone. I just bought this one few months ago and it fits my needs: it's a phone with a decent battery.

I use GPS quite rarely so I don't need a better device for this thing. Even though the screen is small I can handle with it. Anyway, during my euro-trip I used it only during the last 2-3 km to know which streets in the cities to drive on. I don't need it during long trips, but just during those last few km.

I know it's a good phone C5. it all depends what you need. In Paris I need constant navigation and traffic updates, I don't see myself driving without that. except in my district.

In Arad or Timisoara (where I live) I don't need navigation (maybe just to search to see where is a minor street, but I can get there without navigation). Plus, we don't have traffic updates in Romania so I really don't need that device. Maybe sometime in the future...

Romania cannot into traffic updates.

I also use a Nokia C5. The only place where I had problems was Vienna. And with 2 navigators!

Actually Nokia covers just a few big countries with traffic info. You are probably speaking of tmc, but thats just for dedicated gps devices.

Has anyone used Sygic Aura Maps on Android (or iPhone?). I used it on my last Alpine trip and it was absolutely brilliant. You can download maps directly from their dedicated service via your phone. Very convenient. It has 3D buildings in some cities (including skyscrapers!).

I use navigation of my Nokia E52 usually only in walking mode, when I'm discovering historic city centers as tourist, etc. It's a very nice tool in such a situation. For my car I have a dedicated navigation tool having a bigger (4.3") screen but sometimes I tested Nokia E52 for car navigation: it worked well but the screen is quite small for it.

As for Sygic I have some doubts about map quality in Eastern Europe. And since more than 90% of my trips is in this area it is an important question for me :-)

Sygic maps are a good alternative for Android if you don't have a data plan for google maps.

Me the same. C5 fits exactly my needs. I bought it about 1 year ago. During my european trips I use GPS just inside towns to reach a certain adress. I rarely use it also in Bucharest to reach a specific place in a neighbourhood I'm not very familiar with. The fact that I have free maps from Ovi is very good.

Here's a bit of fun for y'all:

1: Go to Google, and in the search bar, type the following: Google Gravity.

2: Click the first result and have fun.
