That's true, if they wanted to do it like A5-M70 on the SLO-H border, but they could also leave the border crossing for bicycles etc. and make it like on the Slovenian side, so you can leave the "motorway" immediately after the border crossing.

Nope. I don't know about New York but here in Los Angeles, especially in down town, it gets very confusing with hidden on and off ramps, one way streets that suddenly become two way, and vice versa, and all kinds of other craziness. I could go on and on as there is a lot of badly designed stuff in this town. Half of LA's notorious traffic jams are not because of too many cars but because of the bottlenecks caused by poor highway design.

A lot of these were built back in the fifties to the seventies so they made a lot of mistakes. As we speak, most of LA is now a highway construction zone. They are redesigning and rebuilding a lot of the bad older stuff, which right now is making traffic even worse. Even though LA is full of highway I very rarely drive on them. Half the time you can get places faster on the surface streets.

The smallest Italian municipality is Fiera di Primero (Trento): 0,15 square kilometres.

Just had a drive with 2 friend from Frankfurt to Trier (Germany) via Koblenz, following the Rhine and Mosel canyons. It was a stunning drive, the scenery is very beautiful, but the weather didn't help much.

It is quite impossible to plot the whole trip on Google Maps here because the road following the rivers and their twists is much longer than shortcuts available so one needs like 30 waypoints to make it work

In Slovenia only one "settlement" is smaller than that, without inhabitants (Smallest municipality has 6,9 km2). "Razbore-K. o. Poljane - del" suggests it's not a "real" place - once upon a time it was part of Razbore village to the east but at some point a few houses became a part of different municipality, so both sections got the addition "- del" (=part). This process created many weird independent "settlements", e.g. a strip of forest named after a village that lies several hills away, or a lawn. However in Šmartno pri Litiji municipality unfortunately there was already a place called Razbore, so now they are distinguished by their respective cadastral communities, "katastrska občina" (k. o.) in Slovene. Municipalities should have got rid of all place names with "- del" till March 2010 (Article 34), but it will probably take many decades

Smallest settlements by area
Largest settlements by area - all of Slovenia's surface is divided into settlements, second largest is Snežnik with 95 sq km and 21 inhabitants , if you look carefully you see it has 3 or 4 actual settlements which are counted as streets within Snežnik.

Yup. Try also Llocnou de la Corona, 0.04 km^2 and some 30 kilometers South of Emperador, at the other side of Valencia.

One day I will have time I will check if Emperador (0,0305 km2 wikipedia dixit) or Llocnou de la Corona (0,04 km2 wikipedia dixit) is smaller. There are official webs to check it... but anyway you can imagine the situation.

One football stadium, 105x68 m and the area for spectators can be greater. I saw a picture with the area of Llocnou and the area of the Camp Nou Stadium at Barcelona and the second was greater.

In my region, the smaller municipality is "double": 0,08 km2 (Malejan)

Here's some official info, Maleján has 0,08 km2. IGE probably has more precise info, but I couldn't find the numbers in their website.
