I would be quite surprised if three or more were personal cars. The N35 connects well to the A1, the gateway east

Yes. An Estonian and Lithuanian car were driving behind eachother, and a Romanian camper overtook me at a traffic light. Quite a modern one, I guess NL is a top Romanian holiday destination There was also a Hungarian car.

People in the Netherlands still often refer to Poland or Czechia as an "eastern bloc" country. However, the east-west differences are diminishing somewhat. Eastern Europe is now depending on point of view. Some people see Poland as Eastern Europe, also often only Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.

I even see Germany as 'east', because it is located on the east side of the Netherlands. The A1 is the gateway east because most truck traffic from the Netherlands to Germany, Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe. All these countries/regions are located on the east side of the Netherlands.

IMO the best term is Central Europe (with capital "C"), b/c there's a big difference with Russia, Belarus, Ukraine. Slovenia will most probably overtake Italy in a year or two in GDP per capita, and the difference with Germany, France or the UK isn't big at all.

You have already overtaken Portugal, right?

@PLH: Psychologically thinking I'd say that Eastern Europe starts where the EU stops

No wonder, you're the best piece from YU-cake, if Silesia proclaimed independence from Poland they would overtake a few old EU countries as well

I am not sure I would like a coutry so much in the west then The Netherlands because the atmosphere colors are very cold, the more to the east you go, the warmer and more saturated the colors of atmosphere look, for me it is very important how the Atmosphere colors are, especially during autumn and winter, I noticed that in Bulgaria the atmosphere colors are too different for me compared to Germany, when it is November for example it feels differently in Bulgaria, I also noticed that I liked the atmosphere colors in Bayern, not too much but just great, others must admit here that the more east you go the more the atmosphere color changes and that atmosphere color is dependant on the place you are, the Austrian- Hungarian border feels different then the Austrian German border and for me the atmosphere color is very important.

That's a long sentence

And you shouldn't move to the Netherlands for the climate. Our summers are very cool and the winters warm compared to other European countries. And our autumns are horrible.

That´s bad, tell me more, you only say horrible but don´t describe what you mean, man, and could anyone tell me something to my atmosphere part? Have you noticed that atmosphere is different and that even if you wouldn´t know where you are you would recognise a coutry by it´s atmosphere?

I mean that it's very dark, the sun rises at 8:00-8:30, and sets at 16:30-17:00 again, there's lots of wind, grey clouds and rain. Quite depressing. Last two/three weeks were like that. Not so much rain, but hardly any sun and lots of (SW/NW) wind, which can be quite strong. Mostly 4 Bft inlands and 6/7 Bft at the coast. There are of course also sunny periods, but they are rare and only last a few days. Autumn usually has a few snowy days, like last weekend, but the snow usually melts instantly or within two or three days. So this is what our autumn looks like.

Our spring is quite the same, but with more dry weather and less clouds. The summers can be hot (2005, 2006), but they can also be very cool and rainy (2007, 2008). In 2007 we had heat waves in April and May, but the summer was nothing but rain.

Winter has disappeared; autumn and spring are after each other nowadays.
