There were already people (quite a few) attending the scene.

Accident scenes are made dangerous by large crowds gathering to assist a driver, even more because there is nothing much to do but wait until paramedics arrive.

2-4 people are more than enough in a scene like that. Everybody else should just keep driving instead of creating a traffic jam or road hazard that delays the arrival of paramedics.

In some cases other people are witnesses that can prove important to determine what caused the crash and to help police take the appropriate actions for the guilty driver.

Check also Les 2 Alpes for a day and their carving pistes under glacier when you're already there.
Thank you. I just can't wait to jump in my ski boots

I noticed that on motorways usually the truck that is passed makes a sign with the long beam lights when the other truck can safetly return to the first lane.

Roads closed in Romania since yesterday because of snow storm:

I heard that there are a total of 2 motorways, about 40 DN (main roads) and 200+ DJ (secondary roads) closed. Bucharest is shut-down since yesterday. You can drive inside the capital, but nobody gets in or out (not even on railway or by plane).

Are they so lazy to clean roads or it's really that bad? Can you post some pics in the Romanian thread?

The Romanian forum is splitted into 2 sides: some say that they are lazy and incompetent, others say that it really was that bad.

I would say that yes, the government didn't do enough, but it really was that bad. I see on TV the snow storm and after a snow plow passes the snow gets back on the road in 1 minute thanks to the wind. Also a major factor of the road block are the idiots: many people started their trips although the police officers stopped them and told them that it's really that bad and they should stop, but they just woudn't listen. Some roads are blocked even because cars were left in the middle of the road by their owners (they should have at least pulled them on the right).

"Der Spiegel" commented yesterday about the Costa Concordia shipwreck in a pretty aggressive and racist way, "nobody is surprised that captain Schettino was Italian", "Italians are not a race".
Germans are not soft with us, they've never been, but this comments have sparked outrage in Italy. "Il Giornale", one of the most harsh newspapers in Italy, today commented:
"Schettino for us, Auschwitz for you - Der Spiegel accused us to be cowards because 'we are not a race". They are, as Hitler proved to the world'"
http://www.ilpost.it/2012/01/27/le-p...ilgiornale-20/

Will this childish arguments ever end?
