You see... Bulgaria is so many eras behind your modern countries... we're still in stone-age

We're not so modern either. Look at this text written in the border-city of Nădlac (border with Hungary):

"Welcome to Romania. Set your clocks 50 years behind."

edit: it looks that some Romanians are very high-tech. Here is the latest type of a/c for tractors (pictures by me):

I think we had more motorways 50 years ago.

In real life, electronic toll collection was first introduced in Bergen, Norway in 1986, and well into the 21th century many countries still struggle to implement it.

By the end of the 1920s, over 4,000 kilometers of multi-lane motorways were constructed throughout Italy, linking cities and rural towns
We are at ~400 km right now...

Fascist dictators are famous for motorway construction.

Btw, has already Mussolinis daughter established her own party? I heard something like that in January. :/

Yeah, 700 km at an area of 20% of Romania's and a population of 28% of Romania's...

LOL, what an incredible nonsense. Not a single pre-1950's autostrada in Italy had current motorway standards (2x2), and I seriously doubt whether it (autostrada) reached 4000 kilometers by the end of the 1920's as well...

That is why you shouldn't trust large projects like Wikipedia, where there are no expert editors in many fields.

Only 500 km of single lane motorways were built in Italy before the war.
But 50 years ago was 1962. The route Milan - Naples was almost completed, as well Turin - Venice, Milan - Genoa and Milan - Swiss border.

Those 4000km are nonsense. I once read on en.wiki that Italy has currently around 3000km while we have 7000!
4000km could be the lenght of paved roads in the 20s.

Similar here. We had about the same length of motorways as Poland until a few years ago (and they were much better too ). I think we even had more motorways than Russia.

The Italian A1 alone is longer than all avtoceste and hitraceste combined

There was a crazy guy from Rome, named Gabriele Paolini that became famous for disturbing every kind of TV recording in our capital. Once he showed in St Perer square a poster with "the Pope is gay" and, when he had the chance to meet personally John Paul II he gave a condom in his hand.

You pay the same for the Frejus tunnel but it's 13 km
