WTF? There's nothing called Hofburg in Salzburg, but only 300 km east.

he meant me but I'm in Salzburg only time to time.

anyway, I've been to Lignano, but not in the summer. how is the sea there? isn't Tagliamento river somehow disturbing for the water there?

Not very much, sea water quality here is much better than in Trieste gulf where there are not river flowing to the sea but many industries.
The only advice is not to swim in the Tagliamento mouth not just for the pollution but mostly for strong streams.
Like in other sandy beaches, water isn't clear, but it's not because of pollution.

Čatež is so 80es. the best spa in Slovenia is Olimia in Podčetrtek. unfortunately, expensive as hell, but fantastic experience. i afford it to myself few times per year.

I didn't know. I must try it once. And Čatež isn't 80s. I was there in 1992 and it was great.

I've been in 2010. I didn't go to the spa proper but just to the aquapark. The aquapark is a great place for young people and families, but the apartments there are terrible... probably never renovated in 30+ years, much worse than the average students dormitory here in Italy. There's also a camping.

I don't know about Čatež (I was there only in 1992), but you should see our other spas then. Spa tourism is very well developed here, I've never complained.

Wait, were you in Čatež in southeastern Slovenia or in Aquapark Žusterna in Koper, which is owned by the company "Terme Čatež"? I haven't been to the latter.

No, I went to Catez ob Savi near Novo Mesto. It was in early September so we could use also facilities outside but the 2nd day was a little chilly and we had a great fun in the indoor aquafan. Part of the camping was built with tents to resemble a Native American camp.

And then a few weeks later;

It's funny, but not Americans, but one American girl. Could have been anyone, so your comment about AmericanS is puzzling.
