It's heated red wine with spices(like star anise and cinnamon) and citrus

and those wooden baracks originate from Germany I think They mostly sell food and Liquer overhere in Belgium. In my region a lot of baracks sell Jenever in all flavors you can immagine.

Something to heat you up in those long, cold German winter nights.

It really does the job.

"Glüh" means "glow," doesn't it?

There is such a thing as "mulled wine," in English, but I don't know what it is. self-

German Christmas Markets (in German "Weihnachtsmarkt") are famous in Europe. Lots of tourists from other countries in Europe travel to some German city to visit a Weihnachtsmarkt and drink Glühwein. From almost every Dutch city are daily tours to German cities like Oldenburg, Bremen, Münster, Düsseldorf, Köln, Aachen and so on. They have tried to imitate it in Dutch cities but with little success. A market with 10-20 or so of those wooden sheds, a Christmas tree and a skating rink is just no German Weihnachtsmarkt.

Here in Ljubljana we have them already for decades and gluhwein is available as white or red - often more like sugary water, but the price is also pretty low because of stiff competition - you can get a cup already for 0,20 € - no kidding!

Actually I preffer Punč (Punsch), also today I had two glasses of it. It is basically gluhwein with some rum, honey and black tea.

In Italy they call it "vin brulè"... but I'm not sure 2.5€ is enough to get a glass of it...

Don't mind him. Everything about Belgium is bad because our roads are not as good as in Holland. He even calls Belgium a 'scrapyard between Holland, Germany and France'...

I drank gluhwein couple days ago in Prague and i must say that it tasted like piece of shit and it costed almost 2 euros.. it was warm guided cloves less crap ...i dont want to brag or something but gluhwein in Ljubljana is the best gluhwein in the world and its relatively cheap cheers

best gluhwein in the world i mean... well when you come back home you see that its pretty good compare to other countries its the same with bread i cant eat german bread for instance because it taste like crap in general traditional food sucks in germany... no offence. thanks god for turks

Also croatian bread..god damn when you buy it its nice and soft, but after two hours its dry and falling apart wtf
also with their super dupper calamari in dalmatia...god damn calamari i always get them almost raw.
if a draw a line there in my opinion the food taste the best in Hungary, Italy, Serbia and in Slovenia. BASTA

Does he blame the Flemms?

I must think of it´s best definition first. -Radi Click

LOL that was like over a year ago. I can't believe that you're still sulking about that...

Anyway, I kinda like Belgians and Belgium. And they're so easy to wind up...

if you buy bread in bakeries held by Albanians - yes, that happens. especially at warm air at seaside. i never buy bread there, but only in large chains of bakeries where it doesn't happens with bread.

about calamari - I don't like them too much, but possibly that at the seaside you won't get value for money (for good food as everywhere you must go to local less famous taverns).
best food for me? Italy. definitely. especially continental. in famous places you can get as I have mentioned for Croatian coast - crap. for instance frozen lasagne for 15€.
