In Italy is known the Overland TV series. Since 1995 they travel all over the world with their fleet of orange Iveco trucks. They even tried to cross the Bering strait but the ice was too thin and trucks had to be dismantled and shipped to Alaska on a plane.

They argue all the time? Well, in a such trip not everything is a pleasant fun. You have to cope with several unexpected problem, such bureaucratic custom procedures, inclement weather, mechanical problems, bad roads, efficient management of your resources (fuel, food, water, money, equipment...) that may be scarce in wild and remote areas, criminal gangs, guerrilla, corrupt police and diseases in some 3rd world countries.
Probably they add voluntarily some "adventure" to make the trip more actractive to follow. I doubt you really have to cross low-water rivers or drive along desert paths if you want to drive from Europe to Mongolia or China. But fifteen days on paved roads wouldn't appear like a true adventure...
Once an Italian forumer said that he wanted to take part of a Mongol Rally but he didn't because his mate gave up at last.

I've watched Overland just a few times, but AFAIR, I liked it. I know not everything is pleasant, but that's the point of such a journey. I'd take it as a part of it and enjoy the moment (or I wouldn't go in the first place).

Blog is in Romanian, but maybe Google Translate works. There are also pictures.

Guys, I need to plan a road trip from Krakow to Marbella. I usually do it with 1 car (A6) and Berlin-Narbonne autozug, but DB decided to cancel this route this summer, so I have to drive the whole thing. Plus, it's gonna be 2 cars (A6 and Ibiza) and 4 drivers this time.

As far as Spain part is quite easy (AP-7 all the way through), I need to plan how to get to Narbonne (we stash up our wine supplies there, so we might as well stay there for a night).

Google suggests a Frankfurt approach from north via A4 (PL+DE) or A4/A1/D1 via Prague. I don't know which one to chooose. Plus, I need to stay somewhere for a night, and there's nothing interesting near Strasbourg.

All in all, I want to have 2 sleepovers and get to Marbella on day 3. Any ideas?

Well, you can check a new way going from Valencia to Alicante, this time using A7/A77 instead of AP7. It is free, is shorter, and you will see a different landscape ...

Incredible (and terrible) story. Two 15 y.o. girls killed an elderly man in a field near Udine, then steal his car (yes, 15 y.o. and thus unlicensed) and drive to Padova to meet some friends. Arrested, they said that he wanted to rape them but since the dead body had not walled/money in his pockets, the police believes in another hypotesis...

Meanwhile in Bulgaria:

And nope... you're not having a deja-vu. This happened on A3 Struma construction few days ago, while last year the same happened on A1 Trakia construction site...

Maybe they are starting some kind of anti-terrorist-attack endurance tests?!?
