For me as a car-driver this was great, but on the other hand, this is a mirror to the economy...
Btw: Are there statistics of how many people left the country to work abroad?

No, actually no really trustable statistics. You can read numbers of 400,000 - 1,500,000 people (Hungary has approx. 10M inhabitants). Hungarian citizens are free to work in any nation of EU only since May 2011, it is slightly less then two years, and everyone thinks that emigration increased drastically in this two years.
The main issue is that Hungarian people usually don't speak any foreign language (only about 15% of the people speaks any language in at least medium level) and those that don't speak any have no real chances to get work in Austria, Netherlands or Germany. It means that mostly the best workpower has left Hungary, and mostly undereducated, poor people stayed there, and old people, pensioners stayed there.
Speaking about road traffic: usually educated people, that had a good job (=car owners) left the country, and undereducated people, having lower salary and pensioners (=public transport users) stayed there. If you add that as a consequence of 'swiss franc credit crisis' many people that own a car has now no money tu buy fuel, you will understand why car traffic and benzin turnover decreased dramatically while public transport companies report about stable or slightly increasing amount of passangers.

I got quite different impression. I visited Hungary several times and have never experienced any communication problems there. I, off course, apart from knowing some simple words, do not speak Hungarian at all. There were 3 ways I could communicate with autochthons:
a) Polish, as very close to Slovak, can be used and understood by Slovak minority living near the border. It is also known to a certain extend to Restaurants' owners and waiters in Budapest.
b) English. Generally young generation is able to speak this language fluently.
c) German, which I still can use (learnt it when was 14-15 years old), however in far from perfect manner, is well known to old farts in my age.

The "before" photo looks suspiciously similar to Tallinn, are you sure it's in Latvia?

It looks like a nicely plowed field. What crop are they growing there?

I watched most of his productions. Yugoslavia imitated wild west very well. By the way, if we came so close to cinematography...

It was more than 30 years ago when I visited cinema with my primary school class. They played a Yugoslavian S-F movie, which in some way, made our teachers shocked and cracked or actually broken and embarrassed. I do not remember much of the movie apart from about 3 minutes scene, in which all actors were walking completely naked in a cave, flashing their most intimate parts of the bodies with no shame That film ( I can't remember its title) was showed with no age restrictions.

I preferred more 'subtle' Danish art.
