the quality and the beauty of a skyline is not mesurable only at the tall of the buildings. Look at San Francisco, Frankfurt, Sydney or Rio de Janero.

No one of this cities has a supertall but they have the greatest and the most beautifull skyline in my opinion.

I would argue that while a city doesn't necessarily need supertalls, it needs defining buildings that are taller than its surroundings. Whether or not they end up being supertalls is dependant on the height of the surrounding buildings.
An example of what I'm talking about is Oklahoma City, which has no supertalls, but features a standout building.
Given that Paris already has a few 200-250 meter buildings, I'd say a supertall is what they need next. Hopefully Tour Hermitage will be built to fill that void.

Either way, a level skyline is rarely iconic, in my opinion. And as the average heights of the buildings increase, so must the tallest buildings.

So, La Défense will have some hidden treasures, only visible from some points of view.

La Défense, the biggest european business district with a thousand faces

If you want supertalls, you have Hermitage Plaza to look forward to!
In the meantime, enjoy the gems being built now.

Is this sarcasm?!

LD nor Paris need to have hidden treasures. You only need to look up to see many many hidden treasures all around you, even in LD!

Eiffel Tower towers above anything and everything off course but also the great arch of LD as well as around the corner the fortress of Napoleon or Malmaison etc etc etc

Let's all just wait it out patiently and wait for a few more months.

Too soon and too little to say if it will be going to be a hidden treasure or a very famous popular building. :-)

I know, I was just saying that far away from La Défense, when you take shots of the skyline, from some points of view you can see hidden treasures like D2 (because it's not a supertall so it's not visible from all around) or La Grande Arche, and from other points you see just the classic boxes.

Tour Maine-Montparnasse 210 m from 1973.

Tour First is not in Paris.

I am very happy for that. Paris is not urban chaos like other big cities.
London is like Cairo or Istanbul - Orient urban chaos !!!

We're not going to get into this whole "Define Paris" debate. La Defense IS Paris, end of discussion.

Now we can go back and enjoy our beautiful D2 rise, in Paris

Nooooooo

Paris is most beautiful city with old gothic, renaissance, baroque ... architecture.

La Defense is place near Paris with modern architecture.
