The Schweriner Schloss is just something!

Maybe I could do a weekend tour in Mecklenburg! Berlin - Schwerin - Rostock - Berlin, wouldn't be bad!

Really, the pics are very good, the city looks nice and it's always been one of my favorites in the region. These M-V thread have just been coming in time!

You wouldn't regret that trip, promised. But I'd reckon to replace the Rostock visit with a Stralsund one.
Rather worth the journey. While you're at it, you shouldn't miss the islands of Rügen and Usedom.

And take a look at my glittering commietown of Neubrandenburg as well

You know, sometimes I think "oh, I'll spend 6 months in Europe, plenty of time." But then I see cities and more cities and I wanna visit them all and I realise I don't have sooo much tiem as I thought haha.

@Schimdt
Here is my tip for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Make it four / five days

Berlin - Schwerin - Rostock - Stralsund/Rügen - Berlin

If you are in Schwerin you could consider an afternoontrip to Wismar that is circa 45 Minutes train from Schwerin. What is also nice in Schwerin is the two islands in the Schwerin sea and the old Resort Zippendorf. Ludwigslust as shown here in the gallery is just as close as Wismar. Hanseatic town or a Castle with Park.

Wismar

If you are in Rostock you should not miss Warnemünde. From Rostock you could reach the beautful Islands of Fischland-Darss (Pictures will come from the last one) You could also reach Güstrow fast which is a nice afternoon sight. If you go to Fischland-Darss you should not miss out on the spectacular Weststrand (Westbeach) and wild forrest.

Güstrow

Stralsund is just before the famous Island of Rügen. Stralsund is itself a sight, but believe the main highlight is the Cliffcoast on the nothern Rügen. You could easily go there from Stralsund to Sassnitz or from Binz. I will update my Binz Gallery with photos from the Cliffcoast and Kap Arkona. There is then train from Binz to Berlin.

When I saw this picture I laughed. I mean, this building looks like the stereotypical museum. When people around the world think of a museum, they probably think of something that looks exactly like this. I mean - the columns, the symmetry, the word 'museum' written on top. I really can't imagine this building being anything other than a museum.

I don't know a single museum that looks similar to this palace. Not in Europe anyway.
Very beautiful pictures!!!

I also think it is funny that they actually write Museum on it as if they had fear that someone would think it is something completely different.

Schwerin is truly a hidden gem. Go there before it becomes too touristic...
