Yip looks fantastic, this will really connect the city with the river which is what it really needs. Love The Esplanade Circle concept and that tower on the river with sky garden WOW, hopefully it ends up looking something like this.

Is Esplanade square a pair of office towers...? and are they part of this project.....? if so, is there anything more on them...?

These are just concepts right? I'm right when I say that none of these designs are final?

Let's hope that what gets built looks a lot like that.

Basically all the government is actually paying for is the groundworks.

The actual design of the buildings is up to the individual developers but from what we have been told there will be some pretty strict design guidelines that developers must follow with the buildings in the precinct. For example the landmark tower on the foreshore won't look like the one in the render, but it will be a 60-70 storey residential/hotel tower with a public access skygarden on top.

Esplanade square is the square in between the other two new talls. I think those two talls are likely to be the last part of the project to be completed so there isn't much info on the design requirements.

This plan is awesome. It looks very inspired. I especially like the little curly-q bridge in Esplanade Circle. It's creative. Does any of this already exist or will it all be new development?

It easily one of the most adventurous waterfront proposals I've ever seen. The area is already connected up to the mass transit system, so I'm glad this new area will be easy to get to and from.

You can see Esplanade station in this picture, just south of Central station.

The already existing Esplanade Station:

The station is underground, with a crappy temporary roof covering it. that'll be replaced by a large high rise when development begins. In this picture, Esplanade station is where the red area is:

You can kind of see where it in in this picture, at the right hand part of 'Esplanade sq', under the building with the garden roof.

well stage one which is the purple/red/green/yellow sections should have ground works complete by 2012 with the buildings finished by 2015

and then stage two which is the blue Mounts Bay area some time after.
