I don't believe it. In a dream yesterday morning I was driving a 1940 style sedan, and a few other people were driving other old cars.

Since I'm new to SSC I just now saw your post, and thought 'Whoa'.

Nice job BTW.

Thanks everyone

There is a lot more to come. This next post switches gears, it's not a specific neighbourhood but a photo essay on some of the effects of the transition from an economy based on heavy industry to a post-industrial economy. There is no map, the photos were taken across the entire industrial north end of the city.

That's an interesting mix of residential and industrial grit.

That last set of photos was inspired, Flar.. some beautiful keepers there... you have a way of capturing the spirit of a city, warts and all!

Oh oh oh! Guess what, I found out that in June all Express GO Bus from Toronto to Hamilton will be equipped with bike racks in June!

"GO Buses in the Hamilton corridor will soon be sporting bike racks, and eventually you'll be able to bring your bike on buses across the system. The user-friendly racks allow you to load and unload your bike yourself.

We're introducing bus bike racks to encourage customers to combine cycling with public transit for a healthier lifestyle and community."

GO Transit seems to be a lot more responsive lately, hopefully they will keep this up and they will actually deliver the improved Toronto-Hamilton service they've been promising for years.

This photo is priceless, and one of thousands of reasons why I love 'The Hammer'. The Godfather pic:

WOW!! Excellent news, and thanks for letting me know!! Where would the racks be on the bus?

Jupiter seems to be aligned with Mars, so far.. and Mother Nature might provide us with a sunny day tomorrow. That being the case I am determined to carry out my plan of going to Hamilton to see Dundurn Castle and also that photograph that magnificent Anglican Cathedral.

I'm not sure about the racks just know they'll be out in June.

This weekend is Doors Open so Dundurn Castle is free to explore so it's a good time to go. The church you are thinking about is probably the Cathedral of Christ the King, which is rarely open to the public. They do take part of Doors Open but it's only open for a few hours.

He's probably thinking about Christ's Church Cathedral on James North, Cathedral church of the Anglican Diocese of Niagara. We went there last year for Door's Open, it was more amazing inside than outside.

I just looked up my file photo, and it was Basilica of Christ the King that I referred to, but very much want to see the Christ Church Cathedral as well. If Go Bus carries through with their promise, I can do a lot of biking in Hamilton this summer!!

I've never been inside Christ the King myself. I'd love to someday, but as an ex-Catholic I might be struck down It's the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton.

Here's Christ's Church Cathedral:

and inside:

And the Cathedral of Christ the King:

(I need a better shot of this one!)

Lived in Hamilton most of my life and I've never been to Cathedral of Christ the King as well. Would love to check inside as well, my Grandma (born and raised in Hamilton) always wanted to see inside as well. So perhaps one day we'll have to disguise as Roman Catholic on a Sunday to get inside lol.

I believe all of Hamilton's Catholic high student students graduate at Cathedral of Christ the King.
