DUBAI | The Summit | 38 fl | On Hold

Groundwork has begun on another of the many hundreds of skyscrapers that will grace Dubai's skyline.

ETA Star, a leading property developer launched the project way back in 2006 with the snappy name of The Summit. Located on the Sheikh Zayed Road, between Dubai Media City and Dubai Marina the tower will offer a built up area of 92,903 metres square spread over 38 floors and four basement levels.

the tower rises from a six storey high podium that will house parking space for the tower and features sheer glass facades two of which start to curve backwards at the middle of the tower and extend past the peak of the tower like slanted blades.

Emerging from the back of the tower an aerial-like spire stretches upwards giving the tower a height boost but also and probably not intentionally makes the tower look like one of the older style mobile phones, minus the chunkiness.

Costing $700 million AED the tower will house commercial space along with extensive office space. When it was first announced it was the first project in Dubai to come up with the condo/office concept which basically means the property will be multi-owned, and with 70% of the3 space sold in the first week of the towers launch the concept appears to be a popular one.

Workers in the tower can expect state of the art communication facilities, open plan offices, a business complex all with plenty of parking. But when the stresses and strains of working life becomes to much to bare the tower will have a health club, gymnasium, cafes and restaurants, a terraced pool space on the roof of the podium and of course retail space located on the ground floor.

The tower is expected to be complete by June 2009

Looks like something around 190-210 meters. That will be totally dwarfed by the Marina block.

Indeed, on the images the building looks pretty high but when it's finished it will be small when you're looking to marina But nice design

It's hardly a 'summit' for Dubai...

I see very few workers on this site every day (about 10-20) working using crane and sometimes the concrete pump. Not the fastest building site in the world but nonetheless they work ...
