No...you are wrong... Manila City is the Capital city of the Philippines, being the seat of the Philippine government and to where the president of the country resides....

The title of this thread is confusing. I was in Chinatown last Friday and counted the floors. It's not 50 or more stories and it's not the tallest in Manila as advertised by the developer.

because structurally, you may have less that 56 floors, but in naming the floors, you can reach up to 50 or 56. most developers don't use the 4th, 13th, 14th, 24th, 34th, 44th and so on because the number 4 means death in oriental cultures.

Yes, but it says there-"55 stories" and not up to 55th floor. Also, their byline "Manila's tallest" is doubtful. Sana, mas mataas pa.

Excuse me but just one question, how were u able to count the number of floors coz the building has broken ground yet. Its still a huge parking lot as of this moment.

Maybe. Maybe there are two Anchor Skysuites...? What I've seen was the one on finishing touches along Ongpin St. after the bridge when you are coming from Binondo Church.

Yep it is the oldest in the world. It was established by the Spaniards in 1594. The Chinatown in Manila is over 400 years old, about twice as old as the next oldest Chinatown worldwide (in Nagasaki, Bangkok)

Anchor SkySuites

Concept:

By far the most ambitious of Anchor Land’s developments, the Anchor SkySuites
is a planned 56-storey Luxury Residential Condominium in the heart of Manila Chinatown.

Once completed, the SkySuites will be one of Metro Manila’s tallest buildings,
an epitome of the height of accomplishment that Manila’s Chinese-Filipino business community has reached.

To be marketed as an intelligent building, Anchor SkySuites offers one whole floor dedicated to viewing its magnificent surroundings.
It definitely raises the bar, literally and figuratively, for luxury real estate developments in the Philippines.

I think inevitable talaga na mabago ang landscape ng chinatown. More tall buildings will rise soon but I hope they'll do something about the narrow roads.

Nope, the one you saw was MANDARIN SQUARE. That is a 39 storey tower constructed by the same developer, Anchor Land. You may have confused it with Anchor Skysuites because they use the side of the building to advertise Skysuites with a big poster of it, which happens to be just a block away from Mandarin Square..
