Downtown Tucson--2/17/08

Took a trip downtown this morning and took a bunch of photos. Thought I would share them with you. Hope you enjoy the Old Pueblo

They're well taken photos, but the city itself looks... Bland and uninspiring. Thanks for showcasing though.

Thank you. I'm not the biggest fan of Tucson, but I explored a lot of Downtown that I've never seen. I was actually quite impressed. the downtown area still has a long way to go though. Half is nice and half is not so nice.

I mean...it is what it is. It's Tucson and it's unique and there's no other place like it.

Thanks for the pictures btw, first pics of downtown Tucson on SSC! My brother just moved out there and lives in the catalina foothills. Any cool places to live downtown?

Thanks for the comments. Not to sure if there are any cool places to live down there. Not really my cup of tea. I know they are renovating this building to become condos opening summer 2008. The Fire Department used to use this building for fire drills and fire training. I wouldn't live there though because the Transit Center is RIGHT next door and crazy people hang out there.

Lol, that bannering looks just like the bannering of every new condo project opening up in big cities across the U.S.A. Downtown Orlando is littered with them on wire fences around the new "luxury condos" that are being built left and right.

It's about time they got this building renovated. Since i moved here in 2003, it's been abandoned, just looming there over the bum and gang filled transit center. Maybe by fixing this building up, the area will renovate and become a nicer place to hang out.

It looks quite dead don't you think?! There is no density, but why should there be right...it's in the desert and there's room to sprawl.
According to some polls I've read, this is one of the top places of growth / best cities to live in the USA...perhaps based on stats like job opportunity, climate etc. aesthetically it doesn't look so great...lots of "brown" and bare lots.

There are lots of "Brown" and bare lots. That's what I don't like about Tucson. makes it look dumpy. Job opportunities aren't that plentiful here unless you like construction work. pay sucks as well. I know I can't wait to leave Tucson. I've enjoyed living here for my four years, but i'm outta here come Jan '09.
