I hadn't seen any images of this. It's a shame the new stand is smaller than the others, but I understand the need for the exec boxes. They'll be no jazzy images of former players on the seats then?!

About 18,000. The terraces could hold a lot more (and they did during the old days) but safety limits prevented it.

I think Deepdale is going to be a brilliant ground after this final stage of redevelopment.

Its taken a long time to complete though. The first stage of redevelopment (Sir Tom Finney Stand) started in 1995.

Ahh yes, and the new stand is to be called the Invincibles Stand, named after the team that went through a whole season without losing a single game, in both the league and the cup.

preston north end, and the invincibles, are special: one of the founding members of the football league (1888), the first english football champions (1888-89), the first team to win it unbeaten (1888-89), and the fa cup winners that same year (1889), without even conceding a goal, making them the first team to do the double - special team, special club, special ground.

I suppose its important to credit the invincibles team.

I'd be more concerned if PNE's attendances were higher. The attendance this season has been abysmal... probably due to the fact that we have spent most of the season hovering around the relegation zone under Paul Simpson. Average gate probably no more than 15,000.

I really really really like this ground for some reason. Will the new stand have someones portrait like the other 3 stands?

No, it will just have 'PNE FC' in the seating arrangement.
