A Week in Oil-Rich CALGARY, the Heart of the New West :: Part 1 of 3 :: 76 photos

I was in Calgary two weeks ago to visit my family for a week. February is hardly the best time to wander around and time photos but, well, that's what I got. Now please enjoy these Oil-Rich Photos from Canada's Fastest Growing City, etc.

Wow what a treat. Just looking at these pics gave me a chill. Such an interesting and beautiful city imo. Thanks again Kilgore. Can't wait to see the other 2. By the way, what was the temperature?

Thanks! The weather was pretty variable when I was there. It ranged between +1C and -20C.

Salt stained asphalt brings back nostalgia of those cold Canadian winters growing up.

Where is all this oil money going?

I'd like to see what developments it's funding?

Didn't you see all of the cranes? There's over two dozen high-rise residential and office projects under construction in the downtown area alone.

Classic boomtown. The light rail really adds to the urbanity of the place.
