Interesting location. How come there's such a huge exploit on building supertalls in Shenzhen compared to Shanghai?

shanghai is already big. shanghai and hong kong have had the progress in the past already and therefor dont need to pull up as much as other chinese cities. and well shanghai tower is showing that progress isnt slowing down at all.

I also believe that the economically fastest growing part of china is the pearl river delta, in which Shenzhen is lying.

coz Shenzhen is ruling such a really small area compare to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Tianjin and Chongqing etc.

And 40% of the land is covered by trees and green which is under controlled by the government which is not available for any development or construction. Therefore, Shenzhen doesn't have any land can be wasted.

although the total value of GDP in Shenzhen is not the most brilliant one, the GDP per capita is significantly high in all of the big cities, without annexing with other cities like what Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Suzhou have done in the past years.

It leads to a situation that buildings are built to be tall in the city. A bit like a few years ago in Hong Kong which is not having a massive land area but high population density.

also needs to point out different intention of developing a super tall in Shanghai and Shenzhen currently. ST is somehow built by the gov of SH while PAIFC is built by a local insurance and finance company in shenzhen for its own use and development. It is kinda showing the difference between communism and capitalism of economies in this particular case
