Those round corners and curved glass are in fashion nowadays. And I like 'em.

the WTC is a joke compared to Hudson Yards. This tower will likely be halfway leased before it even tops off. We might not have to wait long for 2 MW.

Accenture inks 15-year lease at Brookfield’s 1 Manhattan West

Quote:
Accenture, a business and technology consulting giant, inked a lease for 250,000-square-feet at Brookfield Properties’ One Manhattan West.

The company signed a 15-year lease for the top eight floors of the Hudson Yards tower, the Wall Street Journal reported.
[...]
Ernst & Young has been in talks with Brookfield to take 600,000-square feet in the building.
[...]
McKool Smith is in late-stage talks to lease the 50th and 51st floors of One Manhattan West.

ALREADY! This tower is virtually filled. Ernst and Young is taking 1msf.

A hot Hudson Yards could mean big vacancies in Times Square

Skadden took 550k
Accenture took 250k
McKool Smith took 64k
NHL has 160k
EY is now taking 1m
= 2,024,120 sf out of 2,100,000 sf.

Ironically, they'll soon be moving onto getting their SECOND tower off the ground.

Given how long the pedestal part of these towers takes to build, they should start the second tower now anyway. Even though its not exactly the same configuration as Tower 1, it appears to have the same basic complexities.

Got me. My guess is some new type of safety screen perhaps.

a climbing system of some sort, perhaps external protection for the process of fireproofing, or maybe some kind of new safety cocoon.

A conservative modernist tower overall, but nice facade curves at least make it appear somewhat welcoming to the eye. The average joe/jill on the street probably won't give this a moments notice though as it is a background building by nature.

I agree. The lobby design and surrounding plaza are spectacular and the facade is decent. It's also worth noting these two towers will be the closest we get to the original WTC.

The contrast between these towers and 10, 30 Hudson Yards will be a sight to see.
