Thanks for the reply Robert!
My pleasure.

Brookfield must be in very serious discussions with one of the many tenants seeking over 1m sf of space if they're spending the money to build the platform.

From ssp it looks like the 1200ft tower has been cut to around 900ft.

Well, the diagrams still say that one will be 1216 feet and one will be 935 feet

I see no evidence that these towers will be 900 feet tall. 2m sf is huge. I highly doubt that either of these will be less than 300m.

The article said both towers would be around two million sf. Based in the large width of these buildings, it seems 2mil sf could fit in a 935ft tower.

If this project really is cut to less than 300 meters, will become one of the most boring in this city.

I looked at the skyscraperpage yesterday and saw the comments from people saying that the height of this tower be less than that proposed (370 meters). If this does happen, can happen with other towers in the city. And another thing, why the hell shorten this building? If even the giant Time Warner could move there. This is absurd ...

I really hope that this information is wrong, because it will be very disappointing if this happens.

If it makes them money, they will shorten it. Shortening this would suck, but it may well save them more money than they would make at 1200ft which is all they care about.

I 1000% agree with you. If both towers would be only 285 meters tall they would be boring and they wouldn't make an impact on the skyline

I like it how these towers will look even more taller than they already are because there's nothing around them..

Incorrect. In NYC, you build every centimeter allowed by the zoning regs for each plot. Not doing using every CM of air rights is like burning money. Anyway, not one person has cited an article that these towers will be less than 300m. Lastly, as noted, it's virtually impossible for a 2m sf tower to be less than 300m.

Most signficantly, people overlook the third tower, which is planned to be a 1.2m sf residential. That's utterly gigantic and should be well in excess of 300m.

Brookfield plans unusual method for West Side

September 2, 2011 9:33 a.m.

(Bloomberg) - ...Brookfield Office Properties' project, named Manhattan West, calls for two towers of 2 million square feet each and a third of 1.2 million square feet, plus as much as 200,000 square feet of retail space....

935ft would still make a huge impact on the skyline, because there's nothing there around it. Just because it'd rank something like 15th in the city doesn't mean it's short.

This is the puzzling sentence I can't get outta my mind:

They say that both office towers will have 2 million sqft. Now I dunno how tall they will be but according to this they should be twins, or at least have an equal volume. The old design of 3WTC had 2 million sqft. That's weird

well if it's to towers of 2 million sq. feet it would hard for it not to be a supertall even it's just barely 300 meters.

2m sf typically would occupy a tower well above 300m. BofA is 950 feet, but it has an utterly gigantic trading floor. These towers are likely to house non-financial firms.

No. They won't for a while either because that one might sit on the platform which starts in Jan.
