Yes, but Related is in its own boat re: offering space at cost. Brookfield will be competing with Vornado (15 Penn), SL Green (1 Vanderbilt), Silverstein (2 WTC), and Moinian (Girasole) in terms of competing for an anchor tenant at market rents. Moreover, Brookfield has the worst location of those projects. 9th Ave and 34th street is shoddy.

in a few years it will be anything but shoddy with the Hudson yards development and west side restructuring.

Lol, Robert will never admit it but MW has excellent location with respect to transit, possibly better than HY.

MW and Related site will all be very nice when projects will be completed. They will compliment each other and completely change this area.

Because what is going on in the Hudson Yards neighborhood i don't see a problem for Brookfield, Girasol et all filling vacancy because this will be the place business will want to be.

Wish I did, wish I did, Robert. As you may recall, I used this project in my thesis back at MIT, so I have a soft spot for it, as I do for Related's HY.

It's no laughing matter. There are some extensions going on near some apartments near my house in Constanta that always wake me up with horrible jackhammering and machinery. Really irritating! I can't even imagine living right next to a skyscraper under construction!

I'm sorry. Ur right it's definitely not a laughing matter. I would be going bananas if I was living near the project. Bananas. As a fan of the project this is the only way unfortunately this project gets done.

It seems Brookfield is set on the twin 60-story 2m sf office towers + single residential tower plan.

I suppose this is all about the construction of the platform and not the towers just yet?

Quote:
Manhattan’s far west side is about to become one of the busiest construction sites in the country. Last Tuesday morning, officials gathered at the corner of 9th Avenue and West 33rd Street to celebrate the second major groundbreaking in the Hudson Yards District, Brookfield Properties’ trio of new SOM-designed towers comprising the Manhattan West development to be built over a large rail yard serving Penn Station. The $4.5 billion project’s first phase, construction of the north portion of the railroad-spanning platform that will eventually support development, is now underway, and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg speculated that the second half of the platform could be underway in coming months. Excavation has been ongoing since the fall of 2012.
