Does anyone know if the decking that they have and will install on this site, will be able to mitigate flooding of the north river and future gateway tunnels?

Hah fair enough. I guess I meant compared to the neighboring Hudson Yards, the WTC, and all the supertalls going up around central park, these buildings have sort of slipped under those projects. Whereas in almost any other NA city this building would be front page news!

I get what he is saying. To us who follow builds this is a big deal and we know all about it, but this project gets very little publicity. Even in NYC. If this was being built in any other city in the US or even in NYC in a different time (not in the midst of a boom) it would be much more talked about. There are about 7-10 projects/proposals going on right now in NYC that overshadow it.

And yet this thread has significantly more views/posts than taller supertalls in San Francisco or Philadelphia which are much further along.

yes this thread. I separated skyscraper fans from general awareness of the projects. I have seen a myriad of articles from National and local media outlets about Nordstrom tower, Hudson Yards project, WTC rebuild, Steinway, Vandy One and 432. The only mention I even see of this one is usually in an article about Hudson yards, they tack on this dev project to show the total scale of what is happening on the west side.

Dont get me wrong, I like this project. These are the types of project that fill out the skyline and allow the skyline to mimic a mountain range instead of a bunch of random trees in a field.

And having been scaled down..does not help.

I still think its interesting how Toronto's two big office developers are facing off in the Hudson Yards against each other here. NHL is in an Oxford building in Toronto, and now may be in a Brookfield building in NYC.

NHL is already headquartered in NYC, 1185 Sixth Ave.
