Saraya Development Group has suspended sales of its $1.4 billion (Dh5.14bn) project in Ras Al Khaimah

http://www.business24-7.ae/Articles/...2d9db0045.aspx

Saraya Development Group has suspended sales of its $1.4 billion (Dh5.14bn) project in Ras Al Khaimah, citing lack of availability of electricity and a downturn in real estate sector.

Does anyone have any information with regards to the provisions of the availabiity of electricity on Marjan Island. This is an obvious concern for investors?

Friend of mine recently did this with 2 Damac props into one, don't think Select would let you do this as they are not interested in their clients, however would be interesting to see what their reply was if you asked.

Hi guys, not sure if I'm repeating what others have already asked but here goes! In the last update from select property it says that the foundation works and also the basement works will be completing at the end of this month but does anyone know what the difference is between these??

Has anyone been to al marjan island recently to see if construction is as far along as they say it is and any pics are always welcome!

Most people in this room are, to put it bluntly, pathetic. YOU chose to buy an off-plan property. YOU chose to send off money to a developer. YOU have read the contract stating exactly what the consequences would be.

Is it really just that the bet that you took has gone wrong, and that is why toys are being thrown out of the pram?

An investment is an investment. Sometimes it goes right, sometimes it goes wrong. But when it goes wrong, YOU have to live with YOUR descisions. You can't go crying off to mummy and complaining that it's not fair.

Does any one provide me suggestions. SP and I signed a cosolidation contract and loose some money. Now after 6 month SP are saying that it was their mistake in the AED amount. There are two payment was made after after that. Now they are threating me that if I don't sign a new consolidation contrast then I will loose both.

I would seek legal advice on this matter because it was sps mistake. Sp may be a big company and think they can get away with fooling their clients but their days are numbered. Justice always prevails!!

Hi

I'm new to this site

Does anybody know what is happening to the rest of the island. Apart from La Hoya Bay (which "may" restart again), Blue Mirage, Bab al Bahr and obviously Pacific, is anything else being built on al marjan?

Yeah, it just bugs me that people start trying to blame SP for the fall in value! SP (as far as I am aware so far) have done nothing wrong - they are not behind in construction, they have not just told people that the prices have doubled, or anything like that!

Personally, I can't wait to be sipping Pina Coladas by the rooftop pool... bring it on!

Was there last month and noted the following:

La Hoya Bay - No movement yet
Babal Bahr - Will be one of the first developments ready (definately not ready by 2009 as they claim though)
Marbella Bay - Good progress and they already have a show apartment
and Pacific at the very east of the island ...
Not sure about Blue Mirage?

Not seen anything else as yet.

Dear All,

Following all the doom and gloom recently regarding the economic climate and your Select Investment, I found this article particularly interesting for all RAK investors:

Sailing ahead: RAK's cup of joy

i dont blame Sp for the price drop so dont presume!!!!! MY annoyance is about them misleading buyers. So get your facts right before you kick off.... anyway i also would like to sit by the rooftop pool looking at the crane or barren wasteland around me sipping water ( where u will get pina coladas from in a muslim country is beyond me!!)... so yeh bring it on......but when is the question??????
