Brightonbelle, your description on the plus side does give me a warm feeling of what Pacific/Al Marjan Island might be and somewhat makes me think that I should have stuck with the investment rather than default. However when I think of the £22k that I have sat in my account as a result of almost 4 missed payments I am quite glad I did give up! Good luck to u all!

HA HA....Butlins indeed. Very different from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hD0lsEbHCA !!

We are in a similar predicament both in thinking and in the pocket! There is no way this will be complete by summer. I understand your point about loss of faith...I got the feeling they are continuing the July 2012 completion to encourage paying punters to continue paying....if they were more honest and offered different terms in light of current situation it may restore some faith...I guess the summer will shine light onto peoples courses of action.
Its been a damn difficult investment...and like you we have a lot of money sitting on that plot of sand...hard to walk away and harder to keep throwing more at it...
On the plus side, for those of you that haven't been to RAK. Its beautiful, peaceful and the views from the island are gorgeous...just vast blue sea. RAK is busy the hotels are full, lots of different tourists from all over the globe, everyone seemed happy and lots were regulars! With the new hotels opening (being revamped) more interest will come to the area and I feel one day it will be a success.......but one day...

Would be good to meet up with some fellow investors (and not the penguins we met last year!). North/Central England is as far north as we could make it...
Have a good weekend All.

To theammer:

Hi,

I am not too far from where you stay.

I sent you a P.M, if you want to meet up to discuss experiences and the way forward?

Select Progress Update Due

Has anyone heard of any progress update information from Select?

With the 1st of March payment for all LTP owners approaching you would think they would atleast want to get something pictures out. Even if that was a few well placed angled shots which do not give much away and leave us all guessing as normal.

No news from Select .... but a fellow investor I met in Dubai sent me this today (see quotation below) would it be worth joining forces with the google group?

"I have been doing some thinking/research into what our options are
once we get to the end of June this year with no completion date
stated.

What are other people planning to do? Once the developers are in
material breach - do you intend to keep sending funds (for those on
long payment plan).

There seem to be a few possible way of dealing with the breach of
contract - but there would be a lot to be gained by working together
over this. Can anyone with suggestions/ideas post them here and maybe
we can be in a more prepared position.

Look forward to getting some responses."

Payment reminders are out, but no update.
The silence is deafening.

Perhaps it would be more feasible to hold a few more 'local' gatherings? brightonbelle are you actually from Brighton? If so that's a great start... maybe a south coast meeting might be possible to talk over 'stuff', trade real views on the open day in October (I also went) and discuss options for the future... pm me anyone local and interested.

Mrs denislaw would be up for a meeting near Brighton, maybe me too if fits with my schedule. We don't have too many options contractually I fear. We just have the final 10% to pay so are in a deep hole

Hello everyone,
Would investors be interested in a forum that is only for Pacific project investors?
I set up a free private forum which is only open to people who actually bought in Pacific.
I have never set up a forum before, I am a member of a similar ones for another project which I absolutely appreciate being part of.
I am doing this and trying to see if it would be needed for more focused conversation about construction updates, images, news, sales and rentals, any topic that an investor is interested in starting.
This is the link:http://forum4pacific.lefora.com/
If you are interested, let me know. If you are not, that is completely fine.
This site has been kind of quiet, I thought may be we should try something else.

Hi monalisa2
I'm also aware of a google group dedicated to Pacific. I'm unsure what your new group could offer folk that is not already offered here? Would this new group not further dilute focus and audience numbers at this 'advanced' stage?
