Nothing spectacular. But it will be a good addition. Toronto needs many more buildings around this height and higher.

Not particularly impressive... What's Burano?? Is it the same poeple as Murano, but a different tower? Looks a little more exciting..

Yes. Same people. Different tower. Burano will be directly across the street from Murano and, at 48 storeys, will be the tallest of the three towers (Murano is 36/43 storeys). Its base is the former Addison car dealership. Here are some renderings:

BTW, Murano looks very good in person and its 'glassiness' is perfect for the area, which is very concrete, literally if not figuratively.

It does seem to be rising at a very strong pace. I wonder if its because the floors are so small and the balconies are really tiny too. I bet you this one is finished (exterior) before summer...

I believe construction is scheduled to start in the May/June timeframe. Burano is going to be one good looking building, base and all.

You need sunglasses to look at that. Is there a radiation leak?

On a more serious note, didn't Burano across the street just go before City Council? Bay Street is certainly turning into one giant 'canyon' street. It really needs some sprucing up though. More trees, some street art, better wider sidewalks, building podiums 2 or 3 times higher, a few hundred retail outlets, and better street lamps please! Perhaps, a few sure bet anchor stores like Shopper's Drug Mart or Home Outfitters to get the ball rolling. Hell, I'd love a Bloomingdales or Macy's along here.

It's just way too sterile, uniform, and bland the way it is now. There's no reason it can't look like that stretch of Bloor between Yonge and Bay. Now that's an exciting stretch of street. With City Hall and the CBD at one end, and Yorkville at the other, this could turn into one dynamite street. All it needs is a few alterations and more attention paid to the details.

Construction halted as worker dies after being hit in the head by a falling piece of metal.

I heard it split open his hard hat. That must of been a long fall. Those hard hats are built to withstand a lot of pressure.
