why?

my friend's dad owns the company and he said the workers were just douches and didn't fasten the equipment properly because they wanted to go home ASAP. seems really unfair to penalize the company...fine the workers, not the developer.

Are you for real? Someone died, and all you can do is laugh and say why stop construction? All your friend's dad can say is that the workers are douches? Callousness has just reached an all time low. Your friend's dad is a disgrace if that is what his reaction to this has been. I doubt his wife would find it funny if he died on the job.

In Canada, protocol is followed when a serious accident occurs on site. It's not about what is fair to the company, it's about ensuring that it doesn't happen again!!!! If you must, go laugh while someone buries their son, but your reaction is really pathetic.

UNBELIEVABLE! Excuse me while I go throw up.

I'd have to agree with Isiado on this one. As a Project manager responsible for the workers under my direction, if anything was to happen to them, whether due to their own mistake or not, I would stop everything until the full depth of the issue was investigated and any possible safety concern addressed before work continued. That, and I would probably have a lot of trouble getting back to work anyways.... No building is worth a human life.

Can someone provide the dimensions of the northern tower? (Length and width).

Thanks.

excuse me? i believe my criticism was fairly logical and constructive. i found the reaction of the company funny, not the accident. please don't read between the lines, as you have NO right to do some whatsoever. thanks. all i am trying to do is to put out a different perspective. doesn't mean that i believe in it.

sorry if you took it the wrong way, which seems true.

Logical or not, I just find the whole thing really inappropriate to be pointing out. We obviously disagree on this point, and on whether I have a right to make inferences. I DO have that right, and will continue to evaluate as I see fit. If I make erroneous inferences, I will apologize, but I haven't made any inferences at all here. The point was that this isn't a time for the 'laugh' icon, or to be making comments about who's fault it was. It wasn't a case of me reading between the lines, but poor judgement on your part.

Listen, I'm not perfect either. Can we just leave this alone? Someone's dead. I'm not interested in this exchange right now.

word. nobody's at fault here for their opinions...you are quite moral and in line with conservative societal values, while i am anti-ecumenical. my regards to the worker and his family/friends, obviously. that is who i really feel for. definitely a small tragedy that detracts from the face of progress

That's a great picture. It's a whole row of twin towers.

There's a taller condo that will soon start going up right across the street from this on top of that 2 floor stone structure. Another tower will rise a little further to the south of this, and another 2 towers, a little further north. It's becoming one of Toronto's best 'canyon' streets. I just wish there was more retail at street level. Better street furniture, fixtures, greenery, and a wider sidewalk would do wonders for it too.

It would make a nice alternative to over flowing Yonge Street which runs parallel to this one block east.

If you can locate the Delta Hotel to the right and slightly lower than those 2 tall twin condo towers, AURA will be built facing that. In the photo, AURA would be seen filling up the right border of that shot.
