Summer in the city?!

I was talking a walk today on a lakeside park in Zurich (Zürihorn)... the weather was nice and HOT (we measured 34° in the sun and 24 in the shadown on our balcony - and that in the coldest month that normally should be around 5°! and I am talking Celsius!)

Anyway... there were more people in the streets than on a free summer day and the traffic collapsed at times. Never mind, we made it to the park. Here some pictures of how global warming can have its positive aspects (there are not many and mostly subjective ones) on city people:

People were queuing up to take a boat trip on the lake - they must have changed the itinerary for at this time of year is only one boat per day or the like. Anyway - this is the shortest waiting like I saw that day!

Let's pack up the kids or bottles and head to the park!

The evidence that I am not joking: it was HOT and summery althought the vegetation is still deep in winter.

Maroni are out... ice cream and cold drink stands and street bars were packed.

The water was not warm enough for a swim though

Street musicians, artists or sculptures made some good business today

Sometimes there was no coming through on the parkways

And for all the ones that are disappointed that there were not enough architecure pictures: afterwards I visited the construction site of Dolder Hotel...

This Feb was the warmest (4° above avarage) and sunniest ever.

Last night it was snowing! Strange weather here around in the last few years...
