I believe this is partly philanthropy on Stinson's part to revive Hamilton's core.

Are proposals not allowed? If they're not, then this will sadly have to be locked.

LOL. Great!

But I doubt Harry Stinson would want put himself up for a losing venture (although he is well known for terrific failure). There would have to significant interest in purchasing units. How many overseas buyers do you think would want to invest in Hamilton... when they need to look up the city on a map? I will be very surprised if this tower actually succeeds. In a height shortened form... perhaps.

The article mentions the asking price for the condos will be around $149,000 to $299,000 for the Royal Connaught Hotel section.

For the condo tower itself from $250,000 to $3 million a unit. The average house in Hamilton is around $300,000 so the units aren't that way off. These units will be significally cheaper than any condo unit at Toronto, which is where Stinson is aiming. The Hamilton GO Station is 2 blocks away from the proposed site, less than 5 minute walk.

From good sources the sales office should be up within 3 months at the Connaught Hotel.

Hamilton isn't a suburb of Hamilton though, it's not part of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Though Hamilton is a neighbour of the GTA.

Blah! Meant Hamilton isn't a suburb of Toronto. Hamilton wasn't developed because of the growth of Toronto unlike the GTA. Hamilton and Toronto developed as a city around the same time.
