Oh menn, the cladding destroyed this building.




They should have stuck with the original cladding plan. The picture below has the old render of the building, and the cladding of this render looks great.

Realistically, you can't have a practical residential building in China without a balcony of some sort. However, it destroys the aesthetic of the building.

So how does a city like Dubai or Jeddah (located in the middle of a hot desert) build a multipurpose skyscraper that includes residential units and business offices, and still made their buildings aesthetically beautiful.

I don't think the problem here is that the towers have balconies. The big deal is about their poor integration into the design...
Take Aqua in Chicago for example, which shows perfectly how to do it right.

Also I'm disappointed with the top and the skybride on these towers. The renders promised so much more...

Yeah but Aqua is unique. It's hard to make good use of balconies. Although it doesn't come close to the renders.

Most residential skyscrapers in Dubai that have balconies, have stone cladding, not glass. I think with some exceptions (like Aqua) stone cladding go better with balconies than glass cladding.
