Kerala heritage buildings.
Architecture in Kerala is unique and was build strictly on the basis of vasthu, we have lost many of our heritage buildings for our want of land for development, only a few of such structures are left now, this thread is completely dedicated for such structures....so expecting good ones from u kerala forumers and others those who r interested..
![]() Starting wid my ansectral house or tharavad Mounissery calicut, kerala, which is some 150 years old and the design of this building is called padinjata, its a typical Malabar style of architecture. 1 2 Last edited by sanjupalayat; August 12th, 2009 at 09:02 PM. |

Fine collection, Sanju.
Can you post some of the nalukettu in the Calicut area ? The valluvanadan architecture differs from the Travancorean architecture slightly. The temples also comes with different styles.

I love Keralite architecture. It has a clean simplicity that is almost East-Asian in nature...very different from anything in India
