(a) total world's pop. is about 6,600,000,000 people now

(b) the annual income of the world's 1,000,000,000 poorest people is LESS THAN the annual income of the world's 1,000 richest people....

(c) will we ever evolve world society (in 1000 years or so) to the point where disposal of resources are not so drastically different...(like in the super future on Star Trek where the United Federation of Planets citizens on starships dont care about personally collecting excessive wealth to leave to bratty kids, but rather focusing on furthering exploration, knowledge & science??)

I heard from the magazine about facebook that the owner can earn money from any clicks of the members and many tools that you install in the network also an advertisment. How many invitations do you have today?

currently I think facebook is overvalued in the market, especially with Microsoft as a huge suitor....so the question you raise about "how it makes money" is a really good one.

they've got ads everywhere, and given the sheer popular of their website they can charge a premium for those ads. the way their "facebook platform" is developing is also one thing that adds to their valuation but in the end its still mostly the potential that has them highly valued. social networking is an interesting concept for quite a few investors but if it repeats the dotcom bubble Zuckerberg may well be valued at only a few million. i'd sell facebook really quickly if I didn't know what I'm doing....

I believe data is roughly correct....In the Forbes list each of Tan and Sy clans are lumped together.....

Ayala is not on the list (remember its net worth (after subtracting liabilities) not gross worth).....

World Rank...Name...Age...US$B...Citizenship & Residence

785 Lucio Tan & family Philippines 73 1.5 Philippines
843 Henry Sy & family Philippines 83 1.4 Philippines
