That's from around Hauraki Corner I guess. I used to live around there, though sadly didn't quite have that view you could see the city from the lounge.

Aucklands new buildings seem alttle higher than a few years ago. There is a height limit, correct. I was not sure if it was raised to a higher point.

There's not specific height limit in the core part of the CBD, just various controls to protect viewshafts such as that from the Harbour Bridge to Mt Eden.

You know how lucky you are to live in NZ, don't you ? Wellington and Auckland look absolutely amazing from photos, I bet that in real they look even more stunning. Everything indicates that New Zealand is a perfect place. I can't imagine a sad person who lives in NZ.

Thanks for that that is a nice thing to say, yes most people in NZ are pretty proud to live here, some arent and will complain till the cows come home, but they dont know how lucky they are.

At the end of the day it comes down to this: different countries for different people. Aethetics and natural "beauty" with fairly homogenous species distribution don't necessarily cut the mustard for all as urban environment encompasses more than simply "looking good". Thus for the shallow that arguement might hold, but for others it won't.

I still strongly maintain there is no perfect country and it is all down to finding one that best suits your needs.

I will say though that Auckland in particular doesn't look more stunning than in photos - we have some absolutely AMAZING photographers to them and all credit to them for it.

A city's vibe - and by vibe, I refer to how the ambience is, what is on offer and how it generally runs - can only go so far. As I have said time and time again, it's what you make of it and through what eyes you may see it.
