Shenyang, China

This premier mixed use project in the Shenhe District of Shenyang encompasses over ten million square feet (1+ million square meters) and includes luxury penthouse apartments, state-of-the-art office space, two hotels, upscale retail and high-end residences. The complex symbolizes the new North of China and is distinguished by its elegant twin towers. The taller twin (1315 feet / 400 meters) contains premier penthouse apartments and a 250-room, six-star hotel with office floors below. The second tower (985 feet / 300 meters) is a single use office tower. Both towers are crowned with public functions and sky garden observation areas. The towers’ roof line is reflected in the sloped top of the 700-room, five-star atrium hotel that anchors the southwest corner of the site.

This project continues the great mix-use trend in skyscraper construction that seems to be finally taking precedence over single-use corporatist blocks. Personally, I'm in favor of the first design, the one with cylindrical diamond-shaped trusses. It doesn't look very good to me in construction, as evinced by the Guangzhou West Tower, but it looks astoundingly aesthetic in model form, or as I assume, upon completion.

In this tiny image from Eton's website you can appreciate that the Eton Center would be built just next to Hang Lung Plaza twins (KPF), which are already u/c.

HL twins are officially above 320m, and unconfirmed to be 388m and 368m. What a stunning cluster

NBBJs proposal is absolutely brilliant and to think eton centre is built next hang lung plaza twins is unbelievable so many many supertalls in shenyang which is now my fav chinese city along with chongqing with amount of supertalls being planned

thats whats so nice about china, here in holland builders would claim that a normal work day is from 8-17 o'clock, then there are people who complain about noise cus they want to sleep so in the end they work from 12-17 o'clock with still having a break of one hour in between somewhere.

Thats why construction is so slow in holland. And then they still only work on monday to friday.
