There is no way it's going to look that tall. Something wrong with that render.

Don't forget it's just under 200m, so it's only 3m shorter than the Citigroup tower in the background.

And it's considerably closer from that vantage point. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

Looks really good in that location. I love the design; it's simple but it also stands out quite well. A classy looking building.

Even from this vantage point, it looks too tall for only 197m. Knowing that One Canadian Square is 240m.

Press release:

"...

Currently the site benefits from two alternative planning consents for either 214,000 square feet or approximately 950,000 square feet.

Although CWG has yet to announce plans for the site, it offers a significant opportunity for future development. George Iacobescu, Chief Executive at CWG said: "This represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a site of strategic and commercial value to CWG. It allows further expansion of the Canary Wharf Estate, which continues to attract world-class businesses and retail brands."

"There is a relative lack of prime office space being developed in Central London after 2011. With an improving economy, transport enhancements and further regeneration elsewhere in East London, Canary Wharf sites such as 1 Park Place will become increasingly attractive to potential tenants," concludes Iacobescu."

Well the actual structure is 235 (240 is from sea level), but still, I'm sure it looks OK - if One Canada Square didn't have the pyramid, it would be ~200m, and since 1 Park Place is a lot closer it naturally looks bigger, but given the perspective, I'd say they looked around the same.

Demolition of the existing building on the One Park Place site started last year and may have recently finished.
