Exactly. In the beginning it didn't like the design in any way. Now I'm starting to like it more and more. This design really stands out against other "standard" highrise buildings.

Destroy Paris image, be serious it is impossible,
When tourist arrive in Paris they see the worst district, there is ugly high-rises at 500m of the Eiffel tower, there is the Montparnasse tower, Les Halles and many other failure... Is Paris lost its inaccurate image ? No.

Even a 400m skyscraper in central Paris would not change the reputation of the city.

For most tourists and central parisians, towers would be a sore to the eyes. They don't want them phisically and visually..Even seeing a tower in the distance would make Paris look ugly in their opinion.

Are you sure ?

Every picture are in the inner city

I can't believe how tourists can be so blind.

The skyscraper in the first shot definitely makes Paris ugly. What is doing behind Eifel Tower?

It's the only one skyscraper built inner the city: Tour Maine-Montparnasse (1973).

All the others are in La Defense.

It depend the definition of skyscrapers.
Over 150m there is only one but if we speak of high-rises over 100m there is 34 buildings (Eiffel tower and Invalide Dome excluded) in the inner city, and many more if the minimum limit is 90m.
That's why I don't think that building new high-rises in the inner city or in la Defense will destroy the image of Paris.

The current image of Paris is already false.

If you want my opinion Paris is better with it than without it.
89% of inner Parisian are against the destruction of the Montparnasse tower.

Concerning "skyscrapers" this is right, but refering to the photos posted by Minato ku these highrise buildings are located in the 13th district (near Place d'Italie in the "chinese area") and the 20th district respectively (between Galliéni and Porte des Lilas).

Wow at first I thought 'huge box' but Jean Nouvel's designs are inspiring, just look at this courtesy of Gizmodo.com

The more I see this the less I think of a huge box, the interior balconies are amazing.

The huge screen on top would be cool if it revolved and there would be apartments inside that you can watch 360º views in your apartment, but I guess it would be too much of a safety hazard with too many crashes.
