Yeah I see your point and I think you're right.

Let's imagine a tower, such as libeskind's for instance, on which we would incorporate a giant screen (which wouldn't necessarily be square by the way), that would be fantastic I agree.

Nouvel's tower is unfortunately desperately bland and wouldn't bring much quality to the business district. That's probably the major reason why I support so much Libeskind, which is truely a beautiful design.

Which is a shame, because the interior looks great.

STUDIO LIBESKIND ARRCHITECT with ORCO PROPERTY GROUPE
255 meters

WILMOTTE ET ASSOCIÉS SA with Groupe Financière Centuria / Bouygues Immobilier
284 meters

FOSTER + PARTNERS with Compagnie La Lucette

JACQUES FERRIER ARCHITECTURE with Hermitage

According many people the STUDIO LIBESKIND ARRCHITECT with ORCO PROPERTY GROUPE project is not 255m but between 300 and 310m.
255m is the roof height.

Among the finalists for the project has NOUVEL I do not like
By NOUVEL I expected better
I was positively surprised by LIBESKIND, whose project for me the best. The tower is low, if it were on the 300 metres would be the maximum.

London has the gherkin (or something else ... ) with 30 st Mary Axe, Madrid has the asparagus with the Madrid arena towers and now Paris will have the "H" with Ferrier's tower.

It seems all of Europe is looking for idiotic new symbols for our cities

The Gherkin isn't idiotic, it is considered one of the best skyscrapers of modern times. The Torre Agbar isn't idiotic either. Ferrier's project is alot of things IMO, but I wouldn't exactly call it 'idiotic'.

lol that was just a cynical remark, I don't really care so much actually, but it's true that although the buildings by themselves can be good, our cities are erecting strange symbols one after the other for this early 21 century.

I think the Americans boxes like Chicago's buildings are betters than europeans and asians strange skyscrapers. Some of the projects of La Défense like phare and Generali don't fit with the current LD' skyline and will make it ugly.

sorry if my english isn't perfect

- I'm neutral about Ferrier
- I prefer Foster and Willmote
- I don't like Libeskind
- I find Nouvel awfull and even dangerous: drivers will watch the screen instead of the road.

Some don't work, but some end up being fantastic. The Gherkin, again, a case in point.

I suppose North American boxes are 'safe'.
