That will come with time because wickes used to be were the big service office block is and it only lasted about 10y.
The garages will move out to modern out of town site as they consolidate more.
Is the Kennings Ex rover dealers site still a garage or has that gone now.

I would not be surprised if Finnegans have options on there as they built the offices behind and the Old Rabone Chesterman site plus most of the James Neil site by Wards brewery.

At the moment there are alot of sites available, and when the right D&B offer comes along they will develop them unless planing flats. Some of the Building near there were occupied by University departments (admin) ?

Like the idea of a development round a square, of mixed use, as would fill the gap from town to Ecclesall rd proper.

funnily enough i saw an advert in a magazine yesterday that was for hooters, it said they were looking for units in certain cities, there was then a list of cities which included every one in the UK. including Sheffield.

Cheers, it looks like quite an interesting shaped building, not sure im a huge fan but cant really tell as the renders on the site boundary are very sketchy.

They could look like a big pile of shit and it would still beat the Scummerfield. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

This might seem obvious, but its worth saying I think:

Just looking at the City Masterplan ExecSummary and - i don't know if anyone has mentioned this before - but its seems likely that the future pedestrian movement between Eccyroad and the city will be diverted away from the Moore St Roundabout and towards the improved pedestrian crossings/routes to the north around across Hanover Way towards Fitzwilliam St and Dev Quarter, but mainly to the south perhaps in front of or behind Waitrose to join up with London road where the improved pedestrian links across the ringroad will take onto the Moor and into the city.

I can't see Waitrose being demolished, but certainly the Peogot(?) garage will probably be developed in the near future and it will more than likely provide an improved pedestrian route through to Napier St/Cemetery Road. I'm pretty sure the old line of Ecclesall road before the development of the ringroad after the war was a sweeping curve from Wards Brewery across the front of Waitrose and joining London Road where the Chinese Fireworks Company building is, so a route along that way would be re-establishing some urban grain also.

Nah, that's fine. And the French aren't particularly well known for multilingualism either.

Yes, you're absolutely correct. Eccy Road, Cemetery Road, and London Road all intersected, around the current junction of London Road and St Mary's Gate. Eccy Road's junction with the ring road was moved slightly southward, and the old sweep was diverted and widened into the ring road

lol, I actually wasn't questioning my spelling of Peogot, rather I wasn't sure it wasn't another car dealership!

I think rejoing London Road and Ecclesall Road would be great for both as that could become quite an important pedestrian junction in the future.

There used to be an office block about were the clockwise carriage way is and the Waitrose car park edge. It was demolished when the IRR was built through there to upper Hanover st.
