Great Updates!

In regards to the colour of buses once devolution takes place, do you guys reckon we should all email MCC to raise the issue with them? I do have faith in them, but we have nothing to lose. I think having buses complementing the trams would make Manchester public transport easily distinguishable (or even iconic in the longer term), as is the case for London. I believe everyone knows the effects of having a "brand".

One of the St Peter's Square Metrolink stops is now open.

Adding further vibrancy to the Square and surrounding streets, which have also had their Metrolink lines opened.

Might be better emailing Andy Burnham, who looks likely to be our next mayor

I agree we need a 'brand' for our transport - however I was told a few weeks ago by someone 'in the know' that Manchester's buses will be made blue (like a sky blue) post-devolution. How credible that is is anyone's guess - but as I said he's in the know.

I too like the idea of yellow for our buses though - and yellow taxis too! Although that wouldn't be unique to Manchester unfortunately

Good idea. I like yellow, and I guess it will be yellow/grey like the trams. I'm cool with that, but a little more yellow and less grey than the trams would be nicer. We seem to have enough grey in the sky in Manchester! (that said, today was stunning weather!)

I was unsure about 2 St Peter's Square, it looks alright so far and it's not finished. I assume the very very small tower that was meant to go behind it is now cancelled.

Update by myself today.

Cladding starting to go on. This building really dominates Quay St now, and that's without all the floorplates!

3 St Peter's Square?

Has certainly gone quiet in recent years - will hopefully be revived at some point though as I feel it "competes" this jigsaw puzzle.

Me too - dare I say I prefer it to Number 1 and Number 2!

The next building in this jigsaw is looking increasingly likely to be "Landmark" though, which sits behind N1SPS:

The latest on this is that the abandoned cinema currently occupying the site is being demolished.

More photos of the reopening of St Peter's Square Metrolink stop yesterday, these ones by Johnny de Rivative.

Some construction equipment/temporary fences still visible but these should be removed soon:

You can add another at least another 10 towers to that skyline within the next 5 years.

The 2 towers at the front are Wilburn Basin and Water Street.(Renaker)
5 towers will definitely be going to the right of Beetham. Owen Street and Axis. 6 towers if 10-12 Whitworth Street West get's built. Demolition currently taking place onsite.
The other's will be dotted around the city centre.
Another 3-7 towers will possibly be going next Middlewood Locks, currently being cleared. Those towers will be St John's and Trinity.
