Calls for delay to decision on latest Renaker scheme

Quote:
Castlefield Estates has called for Manchester City Council to delay its decision on a controversial Renaker development of 188 apartments proposed for Chester Road.

A planning application was submitted last year by Renaker Build, for two blocks at 2-4 Chester Road, a 40,000 sq ft scrubland plot on the edge of the historic Castlefield Basin in Manchester. The scheme is due to be considered by the council’s planning committee on Thursday 12 January, with a recommendation to approve.

St John's.

Silver tower.

Cladding description

Note: The exact location of Factory in the final diagram. Makes it's position within St John's a lot clearer now.

The view looking towards St John's from Middlewood Locks.

Middlewwod Locks is currently being constructed, so all the wasteland will eventually be housing.

The 2 St John's PRS towers are the Bronze and Silver one's.

The red outlined tower is the St John's tower + Hotel. 50 stories.
The dark blue outlined building is Factory.
The light blue outlined building is No1 Spinningfields.
The purple outlined building is the Central Village hybrid office building.
The purple outlined building is Vertical Village.(think?)
The green outlined building is Wilburn Basin.(think?)
Don't know what the red outlined building is.

20 more similar images/views of the St John's PRS towers from different locations across the city centre. Click on the link. Post 49 onwards.

Thanks Uomo. Glad it is before the tram stop, as that is my favourite in Manchester.

A great level of urbanityto be in this part of Manchester. I like how it leads to First Street as well.

Just needs retail here now.

Unfortunately, construction has now started on this Dandara monstrosity at Chapel Wharf - a piling drill is now on site.

Ordsall Curve(from a distance), No1 Spinningfields, and the Manchester skyline.

Today.

Had to drive close by and under the Ordsall Curve expanding bridge today, for the first time.

Oh my! Nearly bloody crashed into the road cones.

What an amazing piece of Architecture and engineering.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet close up, go, when you next visit Manchester.

Unfortunstely I couldn't stop, park up, and take some picture's. Will take some picture's on Sunday.
